Hair Salon Alexandria

John was born and raised in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, VA. He comes from a very talented family of barbers and cosmetologist. John's mother was the co-owner of Hall & Bailey House of Beauty. John began his barbering career in 1988 at the ripe, young age of 14. His mother surprised him with his very own set of barbering clippers and soon after he started providing haircut services to close friends and family only as a hobby. The word soon began to spread about John's natural barbering talents and his clientele slowly began to grow. By the time he reached his senior year in high school, John was a very creative, talented and popular barber in Alexandria.

In 1992, John graduated from T.C. William's High School and pursued an undergraduate degree at Old Dominion University in the field of Finance. John was certain that his haircutting days would be a thing of the past as he pursued his BS in Finance. However, much to his chagrin, John's reputation followed him down to Old Dominion University and, within a few short weeks, he was known as the campus barber. John would say that he hustled haircuts during his stay at Old Dominion University.

During the summer break of his freshman year, John worked at his mother's salon as an apprentice. There, he quickly began to realize the business aspect of being a barber. For the next three years, John had arranged his class schedule to end on Thursday of every week. John would drive home to Alexandria from Norfolk on Thursdays, work in his mother's salon on Fridays and Saturdays, and drive back to Norfolk on Sundays in time to make his Monday morning classes. John would also barber during the week on campus at Old Dominion University. There his passion for barbering really began to flourish.

After graduating from Old Dominion University, John worked full-time for two more years as an apprentice at his mother's salon. In 1998, John received his license as a professional barber however he decided to pursue a job offer in the field of finance. He worked for a short time at Chevy Chase Bank in their auto loan processing division before taking a job at EDS as an Accountant. John was soon promoted to Financial Analyst. John then moved on to The MIL Corporation and worked as a contractor to the Department of State.

In 2005, John resigned from his position at The MIL Corporation and opened a full service salon and spa. He owned his very own full service salon and spa for five years. John's knowledge of the industry and his expertise as a complete barber gives way to him being recognized as The Ultimate Barber.

"My hair looks fabulous! Honestly, I've never had my hair cut in such great detail. I'm very particular about barbers and even more anal about my hair. I highly recommend John. I promise that you will love him. Just go and see him and you will understand why. He has my vote."
